This was team Alvin's first competition in the challenge in Toss Up. We were the only middle school in the competition and went against 37 High schools. We came in second and lost by one point!
Winter Hampton Roads (12/07/2013)
As a middle school at this high school event, it was difficult at times. We faced some unexpected challenges but fought hard in the qualification matches. We were able to win all our elimination matches to get to the finals but came up short losing by a devastating one point.
NOVA VEX - Woodbridge (12/14/2013)
At this middle school event, Team Alvin was able to win all their qualification matches. After a slow start we final began to understand the importance of strength points and were able to qualify as the top seed for eliminations. We worked our way through eliminations to the final and this time we were the tournament champions.
Bull Run, Virginia (1/11/2014)
In this competition the team was short handed as two of our members were not able to attend. However with focus and determination we went undefeated in the qualification rounds. We achieved a team best of 45 points in the 60 second autonomous, placing the team 16th in the world! The team's hard work paid off as we received the Excellence, the Tournament Champion, the Sportsmanship Award, the Robot Skills, and the Programming skills.
